Awareness Programme under Digital India Week held at KV Kathua

District Administration Kathua today organized an awareness programme as part of the Digital India Week celebrations wherein the participants were made aware about the e-governance and other concepts.The Programme was held in collaboration with Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua.ADDC Kathua, Manmohan Singh was the chief guest and Principal, Police Training School (PTS) Kathua S. K Khajuria was the guest of honor on the occassion.Principal KVS Kathua, M. K Tiwari, Government functionaries, school staff and a large number of students were present on the occasion.The program started with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana by school students.

On the occasion the student speakers threw light on the vision of Digital India Week and its scope and relevance in day today life of the common citizen. A message to educate all stakeholders about welfare oriented services like e-Adhaar, DBTL, Digital Locker, JDY etc under various flagship programmes of Government of India was highlighted by different speakers.

An impressive and informative skit on ADHAAR, Jan Dhan Yojna, DBTL and Dogri Dance were also presented by the school students.The ADDC appreciated the school authorities for organizing such informative programme on the Subject at a short notice. He appreciated school staff and students for their vibrant views. He appealed students to educate their family, friends and relatives about the advantages of being digitally empowered. He said the aim is to educate that government services are available to citizens electronically. He said several digital services like e-banking, e-ticketing, e-payment etc are being offered by different Departments, PSUs and Corporations under the e-governance plan. 

Earlier Principal KV Kathua welcomed the guests and informed the initiatives taken by the school under e-governance. He said the school administration has availed the e-banking facility to take school fees from the students resulting saving of time and labour. He said school is availing full benefit of online e-doc services to discourage the use of paper.The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Sushma Rani Goutam followed by National Anthem by school students.
