Five people have died due to a heatwave in Pakistan's Singh province, but authorities have lifted an emergency as the heatwave has waned, media reported on Friday.An emergency had been imposed in the province due to blistering heat, but it has been lifted after the weather improved, Dawn quoted a health department official as saying.In the latest casualties, four people died in Karachi city while one death was reported in Tando Allahyar area. With this the toll has risen to 1,271, while 102 people have died in other districts of the province, the media report said."The heatwave finally waned as suggested by the improved weather and the reports we received from the Met office," Dawn quoted the official as saying."Since the number of victims had reduced to a minimal, we have formally lifted the emergency," the official added.All additional facilities such as heatstroke centres, camps and makeshift facilities have been wrapped up, the official added.
