Today a joint meeting of INTUC and Defense workers was held at Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Meeting was presided over by Sr. INTUC leader Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma. While addressing the workers Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Government is not doing enough to resolve the grievances of employees. He said employees are being forced to go on protests against government because Government is not preparing a mechanism to solve problems of employees. Mr. Sharma stressed upon the Government to resolve grievances of employees especially SPO’s who are working day and night for just rupees 3000 which is not enough today when the inflation is increasing so fast. Mr. Sharma urged Chief Minister to solve the long pending demand of SPO’s of enhancing wages. He said when Ghulam Nabi Azad was the Chief Minister of J&K State he enhanced wages of SPO’s from 1500 to 3000 and when Ghulam Nabi Azad can do why cant Omar Abdullah enhance the wages of SPO’s from 3000 to 5000 what is holding the Chief Minister back Sharma asked.

Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma also raised the demand of Casual laborers of PDD who are working day and night but their wages are not released in time and forced to protest which causes great inconvenience to general public. Mr. Sharma urged Government to prepare the mechanism which could help the Government to resolve the genuine demands of the employees.Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma also urged employees to give up the confrontational path and follow the path of dialogue because dialogue is the only way to resolve grievances.Besides others who addressed the meeting include President PDD Casual Laborers Association Akhil Sharma, Vijaydeep Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, Naresh Verma, Raman Kumar, Prakash Singh, Abdul Gaffar Khan Member NSUI, Abdul Lateef Ganai and Ashok Manhas .
