Six militants, including a Taliban commander, were killed and three others injured in a clash that erupted in Afghanistan's Takhar province on Thursday, an official said."Security forces began a crackdown against Taliban hideouts in Khawja Ghar district early today (Thursday) morning and so far six rebels, including their commander Qari Tayeb, who served as Taliban shadow governor in Takhar province, have been killed," Mohammad Omar, the governor of Khawja Ghar district, told Xinhua news agency.Three more militants were injured in the clash, he added.Without disclosing the number of casualties among the security forces, the official said the operation would continue till all insurgents were wiped out from the district.Taliban militants captured Dasht-e-Arch district last week and have been fighting to overrun the neighbouring Khawja Ghar district.
