The Nationwide launch of Digital India, a flagship programme of the Government of India was also witnessed today at District Kathua when webcasting of its formal launch by Prime Minister Narinder Modi was arranged at conference hall here at DC Office Complex today.Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Ajay Singh Jamwal, ADC Kathua Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh, ACR Atul Gupta, ACD Sunil Sharma, AD Planning, district officers, heads of educational institutions and staff were present on the occasion.The arrangements for webcasting at Block, Tehsil, Sub-Division, and District level were also made where Block Level Officers, Tehsildar, District Officers, staff and people participated and attended live webcasting of the event.
Earlier, DC convened a meeting at conference hall with officers and launched a calendar of activities to commemorate the Digital India Week across the district at different level viz panchayat, village, block, sub division and district level.Under the calendar the administration will organize various awareness programmes to cover all stakeholders to sensitize them about the ongoing activities under the Digital India platform.The calendar involves public awareness programme, Mass registration at ADHAAR permanent enrolment centre, awareness about Jan Dhan Yojna, programme at Kendriya Vidyalaya besides awareness drives involving pancahayts through BDO’s, Tehsildars and SDM’s.The DC said the focus will remain to educate people about digital services being provided such as digital locker and inform them about functional digital literacy, cyber security, cyber hygiene, ensure better utilization of Digital infrastructure during the Digital India Week and beyond. He said the digital india week is an opportunity to popularize and expand the reach of existing e-services and other forthcoming features and their utility in common man’s life.
