The first batch of pilgrims to Shri AmarnathJi Cave Shrine was accorded a rousing reception by district administration on their arrival here at Udhampur.
A large number of people and district authorities received the pilgrims at Jakhani Chowk Udhampur. The pilgrims were offered refreshment, sweets and drinking water by the district administration.Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Angrez Singh Rana, Additional Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, M L Kaith, PO DRDA Dr J C Mehra, DIO Dr A Hansa, Chief Medical Officer and Assistant Regional Transport Officer were present on the occasion.The ADC informed that necessary arrangements viz Medicare, drinking water, sanitation and transit camps have been made by the district administration for the convenience of the pilgrims.He said Control rooms have also been setup in the district along with other requisite facilities to provide every help to the Pilgrims, he said.The authorities urged upon the pilgrims to utilize and avail all the facilities being extended by the government during the Yatra.The pilgrims appreciated the goodwill gesture of the district administration Udhampur.
