Minister of State for Power, Industry and Commerce, Housing and Urban Development,Mohammad Ashraf Mir today conducted extensive tour of various areas of Sonwar Constituency and took stock of developmental works under execution in these areas. These included Shalimar, Ishber, Harwan, Braine, Khimber and Chatarhama villages.A team of officers of R&B, SMC, PHE, Revenue, Irrigation, Power and Flood Control departments accompanied the Minister during his visit.Enroute, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their individual and collective problems. The Minister gave them patient hearing and assured their genuine demands would be looked into. In some cases, he issued on-the-spot directions for immediate redressal of the grievances. He directed for construction of fencing of graveyard at Braine, Sheikh Mohalla and Ganai Mohalla Ishber. He also asked the Housing and Urban Development Department and SMC to develop Alamdar Park at Braine and renovate the well at Drang Mohalla.
The Minister also visited Gani Mohalla Ishbar and paid obeisance at Ziyarat Sharief Syed Sahib (RA). He directed the concerned for the development of the shrine and its beautification. He asked them to prepare detailed project report in this regard and forward to the concerned quarters so that the funds could be arranged for the purpose.Mr. Ashraf Mir also inspected ongoing construction work of washroom at Shalimar garden and directed the concerned to complete the same at an earliest.Responding to the demands of providing land for use of graveyard to the residents of village Arbal and Chandpora Harwan, the Minister directed the revenues authorities to identify the land immediately.
The Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of bridge at Scaledub Harwan and directed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and complete the same within a stipulated time frame. He also directed for beautification on both the sides of the Dachigam Nallah. Mr. Mir also inspected ongoing construction work of AYUSH hospital at Harwan. The Minister also inspected various under execution works at Chattarhama and Kimber areas and directed the concerned officers of various agencies to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing works and complete them in time frame.Interacting with the people at different places, the Minister said that the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of all three regions of the State.
