Financial Commissioner Industries & Commerce Khurshid Ahmed Ganai accompanied by Director Industries Dr. Shabir Ahmed Bhat visited Udhampur and held a meeting with District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, GM DIC , AD Handicraft and Handloom at Dak Banglow Udhampur here today. In the meeting, Ganai asked the DDC to provide state land (Land Bank) for setting up of New Industries in Udhampur district. He stressed on “Ease of Doing Business” in the upcoming new industrial policy.He further added that in ease of doing business, documentation is very less and single window system has been established for promoting more industries in the district as well as in the state. He said that new industrial policy will encourage sustainable industrial development with maximum employment generation.
He instructed the AD Handloom to improve the quality of works and directed to make DPR for CFC in the District in consultation with the Director Handloom.He instructed General Manager, DIC to conduct entrepreneur work shop for the awareness among the industry owners regarding the upcoming new industrial policy and Ease of doing business. He also inspected Handicraft and Handloom departmental stalls set up at the Dak Bungalow. Dr Iqbal apprised him about e-district project at Udhampur and also informed him that state land for setting up new industries has been identified in the district and soon the proposal to the concerned authority for further action would be submitted.
Later, Financial Commissioner Industries visited Industrial area Udhampur and inspected various industrial units such as Cement industry Pvt. Ltd, Balaji Minerals Pvt Ltd and ISRO Pvt Ltd.He interacted with the owners and staff of the industries and took first hand information regarding their day to day working activities.He also visited and inspected office of General Manager DIC and approved Rs 5 lakh for upgradation and face lifting of the office in order to make it a model DIC office with E- governance, good working environment having all facilities. The work would be done under the overall supervision of the DDC Udhampur. Among others, Additional Secretary, Industries, Ashok Sharma, ACR, Rajeev Magotra, GM DIC, Neelam Khajuria, Tehsildar Udhampur, AD Handicraft and AD Handloom were also present on the occasion.
