Throwing light over the significance of the month of Ramadan, APHC Chairman and head of Mutheida Majlis-e-Ulema, Mirwaiz Dr Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has said that the month of blessing inculcates good qualities in a man so that he plays his role responsibly towards building a better society based on Islamic values.Addressing a large gathering at Masjid Surteing, Rainawari, Mirwaiz stated that the sacred month of Ramdan provides us a unique opportunity to deal with social and economical problems, adding, it also inculcates in us fraternity and mutual bonhomie to collectively stand the issues of concern. He said that it was highly unfortunate that being a Muslim majority state, instead of showing compassion, some of us were indulging in black marketing, stock piling of commodities and selling products at increased rates in this holy month.

Mirwaiz said the holy month of Ramadan teaches us to shun materialism and worldly luxuries and devote ourselves towards worshipping Allah and help the needy people.Mirwaiz said that rewards of fasting are many, but in this month they are multiplied. He said that people should show magnanimity in this holy month and help the poor and needful besides contributing in charitable activities.Mirwaiz said the way, our Masjids and Shrines are full of devotees in this holy month and people compete each other to provide help of all sorts to needy. He stated that people should shun material greed and continue their good work for the whole year, let alone in Ramadan, to win the blessings of almighty. (CNS)
