To celebrate first International Yoga Day, Art of Living Foundation organized one day Yoga camp at Government College for Women Parade, here today.Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest and Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi was special guest on the occasion.MLAs Sat Sharma and Rajesh Gupta and Senior Leader BJP Yudhvir Sethi also attended the camp.Among others the event was attended by Director School Education, Jammu Ms Yasha Mudgal, Principal, GCW Hemla Aggarwal, Chief Education Officer, Jammu Joginder Sudan and Assistant Vice- Chairman, J&K Bank Raman.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta appreciated the efforts of Art of Living foundation in organising the camp and congratulated the college authorities for joining in the celebrations of first International Yoga day.He said the way Jammu city has showed enthusiasm in celebrating the Yoga day at different locations, it looks like that the city has become a Yog city, adding that by designating June 21st June as International Yoga Day the world has given recognition to the age old tradition and culture of Indian subcontinent.He said the Prime Minister has led the world in recognizing the potential Yoga has in healing the body and mind.
While encouraging people at large to practice yoga, Priya Sethi called for making Yoga an everyday activity and highlighted the positive impacts Yog makes on the life, adding that Yoga is not just a physical exercise but it also heals the mind and soul.
She said on the first International yoga day special sessions are being held across the nation and state and people are joining the movement launched by Prime Minister Narinder Modi. She said Yoga is a potent tool to strike balance between body and nature and the technique goes beyond being a mere body exercise.The organisers appreciated efforts made by the Women College authorities to make the camp a grand success.
