Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kashmir unit organized International Day of Yoga here at Jhelum View Park, near zero bridge, Rajbagh, on Sunday.
BJP believes that: "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.”The chief guest on the occasion was, Krishan Pal Gujjar, MoS Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Gujjar on the occasion said that it was not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness within you, the world and the nature.He also said that 21st June was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014 Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin over 6000 years ago in India, aims to integrate the body and the mind.
He also said that there were some vested interested people to spread false propaganda about the Yoga exercise in the country. “Who don’t wish to keep mind and body in good health,” he said.The Yoga was conducted by instructor Deepak Sharma vice president Patanjali Yogpeth Jammu and Kashmir. Minister for Transport J&K Abdul Gani kohli, State Secretary Smt Mumta Singh , MLC Shri Charan Jit singh Khalsa MLC , Altaf Thakur Media Incharge Kashmir, Dr Ali Mohammad Mir President Centre Kashmir, Gh Nabi Dar President South Kashmir, D.K Nehru President North Kashmir, Dr Hina Bhat Senior Leaders, Contested Candidates and State Vice President BJYM Asha Sareen was among who participated in the Yoga Assan.
