Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today directed the District administration Bandipora to verify 210 identified families dislocated due to construction of Kishan Ganga Hydel Electric Project (KGHEP) within a fortnight and asked them to identify the land about 300 kanals at Srinagar required for their rehabilitation.These directions were given by the Minister during a review meeting convened to discuss the pace of progress of all projects sanctioned under Resettlement and Rehabilitation Plan (RRP) for project dislocated families of Gurez and Bandipora.It was informed in the meeting that an amount of Rs.253.75 crore has been sanctioned under RRP for different developmental works and rehabilitation of project dislocated families of Gurez and Bandipora.
It was also informed that the construction work on Maternity/Gynaehospital costing Rs.18 crore at Bandipora, improvement of LT and HT network costing Rs. 11 crore are apace.
Threadbare discussion was also held on development of infrastructure in terms of roads, lanes, drains, parks, street lights and revision of extension of PHE network in and around Kralpora area.Detailed discussion was also held on pace of progress of different developmental works under execution and compensation cases of recent flood affected families in Gurez Tehsil.The Minister directed the concerned agencies to start construction work of Rs.2 crore Sports Stadium, Gurez immediately. Mr. Gurezi directed the concerned to speed up the compensation cases of those families whose property damaged due to recent floods in Gurez Tehsil and submit their cases to the administrative department for accord of necessary relief in their favour.The meeting was attended by the Secretary Revenue Mr. Vinod Koul, District Development Commissioner, BandiporaMr. M. Y. Zargar, Director Agriculture Kashmir Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Sub District Magistrate Gurez, representatives of NHPC (KGHEP) and other officers.
