Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohammad Javaid Khan today led a market checking team and charged Rs. 7700 fine from traders found violating the market regulation rules. The Market checking was conducted in view of ongoing holy month of fasting Ramzan and the Urs Mubarak of Shah Farid-ud-Din Sahib (RA) on June 21.Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Yougal Manhas, Tehsildar Fulail Singh, AD CA&PD, Executive Officer Municipality and Officials of Legal Metrology Department accompanied the market checking team.The team inspected general stores, Mutton & chicken shops, fruit and vegetable vendors, rehriwalas, sweet shops.
The Market Checking team destroyed rotten vegetables, fruits and other commodities which were found unfit for human consumption and realized a fine amounting to Rs. 7700 from the erring traders for violation of market regulation and weights and measurement rules.The DC asked the market regulating agencies to keep close check on overcharging and quality of food stuff being sold to the consumers. He specially stressed on regular checking of cleanliness at mutton, chicken vegetable and fruit selling shops. He asked the sellers to keep Mutton and Chicken meat covered to prevent it from any sort of contamination.The DC Kishtwar also warned the shopkeepers against displaying their commodities on road and footpath and said that strict action will be taken against those found doing so.
