State Congress president Thursday said that Modi led BJP Government  is treating people of Jammu and Kashmir as beggars. The so called package just announced by the centre is a cruel joke to the flood affected people of Kashmir.  State and Central government is rubbing the salt on the wounds of people and take their agony and anguish for granted,” Ghulam Ahmed Mir said adding that Congress Party strongly condemned this prejudiced attitude of BJP Govt towards J&K State.

Mir was addressing a day long political convention of Party leaders and workers at Shopian on Thursday. He lashed out at Centre and State Government for treating people of Kashmir and Jammu as beggars. “The Sept 2014 deluge brought destruction in valley and elsewhere, has badly affected the people.  Its ironical instead of rehabilitating them properly, Centre and State Govts are playing with the emotions of people on the name of Relief and Rehabilitation.”

Mir said PDP has allied with the BJP for the development and rehabilitation of flood affected people Jammu and Kashmir, but the so called package just  announced  by the centre  punctured all the promises of PDP. People who voted for PDP feel cheated and misled. JK PCC Chief recalled the  relief  to earthquake victims of 2005 and reminded the people that UPA Ist under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi provided relief package of Rs. 2.50 to every affected family and Rs. 6.00 lack to victims of Uttrakhand, keeping in view the present price rise and market value, INC and NC Govt had recommended Rs. 10.00 Lac for fully damaged house, Rs.6.00 Lack for Severely damages house and Rs. 3.00 Lac for Partially damaged to the Centre Govt,  but the prejudiced approach of the BJP Govt have further agonized the people and this so called package  is something like rubbing  salt on the wounds  affected people of 2014 deluge. JK PCC Chief said how is Chief Minister and  Finance Minister satisfied with this package. “Finance Minister  Haseeb Drabu  has repeatedly said that  he won’t  go to Delhi with a begging bowl, now that,  he didn’t carry begging bowl to Delhi, what has he got, how is he and Chief Minister satisfied with this package,  he questioned.
