Chering Dorjay for restructuring, revival of Cooperative Department

Minister for Cooperatives, Chering Dorjay, today inspected the office of Cooperative Societies, Bantalab, Jammu and took stock of functioning of the department.The Minister had detailed deliberation with the officers on various aspects of working of the department besides assessing the impediments in its smooth functioning. He asked the officers to streamline their working capacity and competence for restructuring and revival of the department. He also assured that the officers will get a conducive and encouraging atmosphere to work in so that they can perform with added vigour and vitality for better outcomes.The Minister visited Cooperative School at Delli, and enquired from the staff about the academic and co-curricular achievements and infrastructural facilities in the institution. He was apprised about various problems being faced by the school management.  He asked the school management to   step up their efforts to provide quality and need based education to students so as to increase enrolment in cooperative schools.     

Dorjey, later, inspected the Jammu Cooperative Wholesale Superbazar, Sainik colony and took stock of the quality and quantity of the commodities    being sold their.Among others, Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Anjana Tikoo, Joint Registrar (Audit) Jammu Tanveer Iqbal Malik, Joint Registrar Special Jammu Trishla Kundal, Joint Registrar (Adm.) Jammu Abdul Rashid, General Manager Super Bazar Jammu Viqar Ahmed, Deputy Registrar, Consumer Ram Kesh Sharma, other senior officers of the department were also present.

Earlier, the Minister visited Sainik colony and interacted with the members of Sainik Cooperative House Building Society limited to assess the problems being faced by the people in the area.The Minister visited various sectors of Sainik colony and took first hand appraisal of grievances and demands of the people living in the colony. He also took stock of various development works being executed in the area.The Society members apprised the Minister about their    demands which inter alia included augmentation of water supply, improvement in power supply, drainage and sewerage system besides repair of dilapidated drains and lanes, better transportation etc.

The Minister took strong notice of encroachment on upon the land of the colony and assured the people that he will take up the matter with the concerned for early retrieval of this precious land. He also took stock of illegal construction of various shops in the colony and said that such unscrupulous elements would be taken to task so that no one in future dare to indulge in such activities in violation of prescribed norms.
