A general review meeting of Social Welfare Department was held here today. The meeting was chaired by Director Social Welfare Kashmir Hashmat Ali Yattoo.District social Welfare Officer, Tehsil Social Welfare Officers and Craft Assistants of Baramulla attended the meeting.Director took a comprehensive review of the activities and schemes of the department in district. It was given out that Rs. 1038,364 were disbursed under Integrated Social Security Scheme during 2014-15, while a total of Rs. 1,40,647 were disbursed under Pre-matric scholarship scheme across district Baramulla during the financial year 2014-15.
The meeting was informed that as many as 33142 cases were sanctioned under Integrated Social Security Scheme, 9537 cases under IGNOAPS, 889 cases under IGNWPS, 148 cases under IGNDPS, 45472 cases under Pre-matric scholarship and 1548 cases were sanctioned under Rehabilitation of militancy affected people (RMV) in district Baramulla by Social welfare department. Moreover, two orphanages, viz., Bal Ashram at Uri with intake capacity of 50 and Nari-Niketan at Baramulla with the intake capacity of 25 are being run by social welfare department in Baramulla. The orphanages are providing boarding and lodging facilities to the beneficiaries. Meanwhile, wheel chairs, crutches and other equipments are being provided to the disabled persons per year.
District Social welfare Officer informed that the pension schemes have been digitized and linked to ADHAAR for direct benefit to the beneficiaries and the scholarships for students are being provided through Direct Cash Transfer (DCT).
On this occasion, cheques worth Rs. 20,000 per beneficiary under the schemes, viz., National Foundation for Communal Harmony and National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) were distributed among the beneficiaries. NFBS is a scheme for the benefit of militancy affected people.
