DC Kishtwar reviews ongoing developmental works in district

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mr. Mohammad Javaid Khan today convened a meeting of   District and Sectoral Officers and took a detailed review of the under construction  developmental projects in the district . The meeting was held to  discuss  measures for  expediting  the pace of  under construction developmental works  and to remove the bottlenecks and critical gaps that are hampering the progress ,Speaking at the meeting, DC stressed upon the inter-departmental coordination among the line departments for the time bound   completion of the projects in the District.The DC expressed concern over the non-completion of 33KV Receiving Stations in Ikhala, Padyarna and other specified places taken up under the centrally sponsored RGGVY scheme.  

He said a huge population in these areas  are without electricity  due to the delay in the construction of receiving station in Ikhala .Mr. Khan directed the concerned officers to immediately consolidate the list of such receiving stations so that the matter is taken up with the Government and the Funds required  are arranged. He said the matter needs immediate steps so that  electricity is supplied to the people living in these areas as distribution network and other allied works have already been completed.While reviewing the progress of construction of roads through R&B and PMGSY in the District,  Mr. Khan directed the concerned officers to coordinate with the  Forest Department and get the mandatory Forest clearance from the concerned DFO for early start of work.     He impressed upon the officers to make joint efforts for the completion of ongoing developmental works.

Reviewing the status of   Gandhari – Shivas   PMGSY road it was revealed that around 8km stretch of the road alignment pass through   dense Forest which is not feasible and hence the project has been submitted to the Government for relook.The DC also directed the officers to make a detailed list of critical and chronic issues so that these are discussed in the upcoming District Development Board meeting  and bought in the notice of government for seeking remedies. During the meeting DC also sought the Action Taken Reports from all the concerned Departments over the decisions and directions passed on various occasion by the Ministers.Many other issues also came up in the meeting which included Tendering of road improvement works, creation of parking facilities, shifting of officers in Mini-Secretariat, Town Master plan formulation, water logging problem in Bal Ashram Kishtwar, SDRF expenditure details besides others.
