As a part of celebrations of J&K Police Raising day, more than 100 IRP 1st battalion men on Saturday participated in the cleanliness drive at holy shrine of  Siadh   Baba Temple, Talwara.The cleaning drive at the Shrine premises saw men clearing weeds and garbage and path towards natural water fall at the temple.On this occasion officers from the battalion also interacted with the public and tourists present at the Siarh Baba. The people were made aware and sensitized on the benefit of hygiene & civic and also about bad habits like littering and public urination. The motive of this interaction was to make people aware of the responsibility to clear the waste generated by them at Shrine.“With this kind of initiatives the police can get close to communities and bridge the gap between cops and citizens. It helps us to prevent crime,” said SSP Tej Ram Katoch, Commanding Officer of the battalion.More programmes had been lined up, both for the men in uniform and the public, Katoch added.
