The recent rains and storms have caused immense damage in many areas of Nagrota assembly constituency which need to be assessed at the earliest and repair works be taken on war footing. This was stated by BJP State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma after conducting and extensive tour of Bambyal Gundla, Marh, Thanda Pani and Pangali villages falling in his constituency. He was accompanied by senior officials of PHE, PDD, PWD and Rural Development Department.Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the essential services have been badly damaged by the recent rains and storms as a result of which the electric poles got uprooted, many roads and water supply pipes also got damaged. These have resulted into causing problems for the people living there.

Sharma, while stressing for immediate repair work in the affected villages, asked the officials of various departments accompanying him to work overnight to ensure that the people are not made to suffer any more and the services thus interrupted or snapped are restored as soon as possible. He also released an amount of Rs. 12 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to the Rural Development Department so that the repair works through PDD, PHE and PWD are taken into hand immediately with the clear directions that the funds be utilized judiciously.

Accusing the government of turning deaf ear to the cries of the people who suffered  losses to their houses and standing crops in the past also, Sharma said that it is indeed unfortunate that the affected people are running from post to pillar with representations seeking compensation but all in vain.Sharma also assured the members of various deputations that he will be visiting the remaining affected villages to take stock of the losses / damages and thereafter make every possible initiative to mitigate the sufferings of the people.Nand Kishore Sharma, Sarpanch Ram Singh, Rattan Lal, Ram Dass, Panch Sohan Lal, Panch Deepak Kumar, Kulbushan Kumar and Kailash Kumar also accompanied the MLA.
