Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a public durbar at Ganderbal in which issues pertaining to development of Ganderbal, Kangan, Sonamarg, Nilgrath, Manigam, Bakura and other areas were highlighted.
A large number of people from different areas of Ganderbal district attended the Awami Darbar and apprised the Divisional Commissioner about their grievances and problems.The main issues highlighted by the people included widening of Nagbal- Safapora road, completion of construction of district Hospital Ganderbal on priority basis, power supply, staffing at Government schools of Kangan and immediate repair and desiltation of irrigation canals in the district.
The Divisional Commissioner assured the people that all their grievances shall be redressed without out undue delay. The Div Com directed the PDD authorities to provide uninterrupted power supply during night hours in the month of Ramadhan. He also directed the concerned authorities to electrify Ganderbal and Kangan by installing street lights in these areas. All concerned officers were asked to look into the public grievances and put all their efforts to redress them without any delay.After the public durbar, the div com reviewed the functioning of different departments in the district and discussed with the district officers the problems they are facing in their offices.
DC Ganderbal, Mr. Showkat Aijaz, SP, Ganderbal, Mr. Imtiyaz Ismail, ADC Ganderbal Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari and senior officers of district administration were present on the occasion.Later, the Div Com accompanied by DC Ganderbal visited Beehama Power canal to take stock of its repairs. He also inspected the Rangil Water Treatment Plant to check its working. He instructed the concerned authorities to explore possibilities to enhance the performance of the plant.
