The consumers of the state would get 2kg additional quota of sugar per family during the holy month of Ramadhan. Decision in this regard was taken in a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs Ch. Zulfkar Ali here today.The meeting reviewed overall stock and supply position of essential commodities in the state.The Minister instructed the concerned authorities for ensuring supply and distribution of ration to the consumers well in time adding that  no consumer should face any inconvenience while getting ration at his sale outlet during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Mr. Zulfkar directed the DC Srinagar for constituting special squads to ensure proper monitoring and disbursement of  ration from sale outlets  so that rationees  could get ration in time. He further asked the concerned to ensure distribution of ration before 15th of June.

Reviewing the progress on verification process, he asked the concerned to speed up the process and ensure its completion within shortest possible time so that ration would be provided as per 2011 census to the beneficiaries earnestly. Zulfkar impressed upon the officers of Legal Metrology Department to make sure that people get different commodities at reasonable rates  as trade malpractices  are often  witnessed   during festive seasons. For  this  purpose, he directed strict vigil on overcharging, black marketing and profiteering beside maintaining quality of essentials.

The Minister asked the concerned to closely monitor the rates of mutton and chicken from time to time and make sure that the shopkeepers display rate lists at their establishments.He appealed the people to register their grievances in any regard in grievances cell of the Directorate Office of CA&PD where officers are available for prompt response and grievance redressal.Secretary, CA&PD, DDC Srinagar, Director CA&PD, Kashmir, besides ADs from all districts and other senior officers of the Department were present in the meeting.
