A meeting of District Level Consultative/ District level Review Committee was held at here under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ramban Farooq Ahmed Shah Bukhari today.It was informed that during the financial year 2014-15 an amount of Rs 863.97 Cr was recorded in the deposits sector whereas Rs 227.43 Cr were advanced by the banks in the district to the people during the same time period.It was further given out that employment was provided to 171 beneficiaries by advancing an amount of Rs 3.19 Cr during 2014-15.The Chairman expressed displeasure over the low CD ratio of the banks. He directed the banks to involve and mobilize the Self Help Groups for taking up activities like Floriculture, Horticulture and allied activities under Agriculture for advancing more funds to the needy which can not only generate employment but also improve the CD Ratio as per the standards of RBI.
Regarding the disbursement made under KCC, the banks were directed to advance money as per the norms to the farmers since mere sanctioning of the KCCs without advancing the money shall not suffice the concept of this Financial Inclusion Scheme of the Govt of India.It was given out that the banks in the district have so far advanced an amount of Rs. 16.33 Cr to 4818 KCC beneficiaries.LBO informed that the banks have been organizing various Financial Literacy Camps for including people under the recently announced Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojna and up to 31st of March 2015, 28172 accounts have been opened and the banks have organized 121 financial literacy camps.
AGM NABARD informed that Joint Liability Groups have been created in which the members can avail financial facilities and the department is also involving SHGs from Ramban and other areas for creating JLGs in such a way that more and more people are benefited. DDC directed GM DIC to identify exclusive groups of economically downtrodden, ST and SC candidates and forward to LBO so that they can be trained in Plumbing and Electrician trades in residential Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI).MLA Ramban Neelam Kumar Langeh who was present on the occasion, assured the participants his support in identifying beneficiaries and SHGs. He asked the officers to expand their area of awareness about financial inclusion and sponsored schemes of the government.Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, CPO, DSHO, AD Employment, GM DIC, AD Handlooms, LBO, AGM NABARD and Managers of all the banks of the district were present in the meeting.
