Minister for Rural Development and Panchayti Raj, Abdul Haq has said that focused attention is being given to the development of rural areas of the state and in this regard various schemes are being executed by Rural Development Department so that the living standards and socio-economic conditions of the people improve. The Minister said this while addressing a large gathering of people after inaugurating 266 feet long foot bridge at Mammar, Kangan here today. The foot bridge has been constructed at a cost of Rs 38.87 lakh and people of about 17 villages of Mammar area will be benefitted.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that government will leave no stone unturned in the welfare and development of people particularly living in rural areas.
He appealed people to extend cooperation in successful implementation of developmental schemes and projects so that people are benefited. He urged upon them to put in efforts for making rural areas clean and green so that hygienic atmosphere is ensured for sound health of the people.During his extensive tour of Kangan and Ganderbal, the Minister inspected various ongoing developmental works being carried out. He inspected the link road at Dariend Ganderbal on which an amount of Rs 4.14 lacs have been spent. He also visited Panchayat Ghar Dariend and took stock of its functioning.
On the occasion, the Minister interacted with public representatives and officers of Rural Development Department and urged upon them to take up such development projects in hand which will benefit the people and stressed on judicious utilization of funds while executing developmental works. Meanwhile, the Minister also inspected construction work of shop line at Haripora, Kangan in block Lar which is being constructed under SGSY scheme. He also inspected Rearing Centre, Mammar.The Minister was accompanied by the Director Rural Development Department, Kashmir and other senior officers of Rural Development Department.
