Taking serious concern over delay in completion of Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG Scheme, Minister for CAPD, Tribal Affairs Ch Zulfkar Ali asked the oil companies to ensure cent percent completion of DBTL by June end this year.The Minister was chairing a meeting convened to review the delivery mechanism of LPG cylinders from the representatives of various Oil Companies.Director CAPD, G. S. Chib, Additional Commissioner, Rehana Batool, Joint Controller Legal Metrology, Amar Singh, Deputy Controller Legal Metrology, Manoj Prabhakar, Deputy Director Supplies CAPD, Atam Dev Singh, Tehsildar Jammu, Abid Hussain, representatives of various oil companies and other senior officers attended the meeting.Taking a detailed review of overall distribution scenario in Jammu region, the Minister directed the concerned to put in serious efforts to improve quality of services provided by them, adding that convenience of people is the priority of the coalition government. Zulfkar directed the Oil Companies to ensure timely distribution of LPG Cylinders to the consumers.The Minister stressed upon oil companies to do away with Point Delivery System and instructed them to ensure cent percent home delivery to the consumers, besides speedy disposal of all pending cases under Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme.

Referring to certain irregularities in timely delivery of services, the Minister said that several bottlenecks impeding the effective monitoring mechanism need to be checked.The Minister asked the concerned authorities to keep strict vigil to prevent use of domestic cylinders for commercial purpose, adding that those who are found involved in such malpractices should be dealt with strictly. He also reviewed the supply position of LPG Cylinder in Srinagar and Ladakh.During the meeting, the Minister urged upon the Oil companies to take strict action against erring distributors of LPG, adding that complaints against such distributors should be forwarded to Petroleum Ministry.Later, the Minister convened a meeting with R&B Engineers to discuss various developmental projects, including road projects Kewal Morh to Targain via Gotu, Marasi Morh to Bagyalkote High School, Palma to Mandorgola vai Tralla under CRF and directed them to complete the same within the stipulated time frame. He also reviewed the status of other projects like Degree College Building and construction of Guest House at Koteranka. He directed the engineers to start construction work of the Degree College building, and to complete all formalities at the earliest.
