A day after Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said his Government will achieve its objectives regarding revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), opposition National Conference (NC) Sunday slammed both PDP and BJP for ‘befooling’ people of Jammu and Kashmir and resorting to “shadow boxing” on the revocation of the Act.“It is just shadow boxing that the coalition partners are playing only to befool the masses. One the one hand Defense minister says there will be no change in AFSPA and on the other Mufti Syeed says he knows what to do on AFSPA. I can tell you that Mufti’s statement over the AFSPA is only to befool the people,” NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar told KNS.

He said both the parties had disclosed in the agenda of alliance that they will remove the AFSPA from some areas. “Though PDP has disclosed in the agenda of alliance that they will revoke the AFSPA but it seems that PDP’s hue and cry was only to grab the power. People of Jammu and Kashmir are wise enough to know their game plane,” Sagar said.He alleged that the failure of the government in the State is a clear indication that PDP leaders are giving statements only to appease the New Delhi while they are internally not serious towards the problems of Jammu and Kashmir people. It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Saturday said that his Government will achieve its objectives regarding revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Jammu and Kashmir. “I know what to do on AFSPA and would achieve objective on its revocation. I know everything. I know what to do and what not to do. Whatever we have to do, we will do that,” he had said while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of International Buyer Seller Meet at SKICC. (KNS)
