Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq today made a surprise visit of District/Block Store of Rural Development Department at Zakura and inspected the godowns there.The Minister took serious cognizance of the wastage of funds in the form of unused construction material kept there since years. The construction material includes cement bags, iron bars and frames etc The Minister instructed the Director Rural Development, Kashmir to constitute a Committee to investigate in the matter and ascertain as to why such purchases of construction material have been made and why they have been left unused to rot.
Haq while interacting with the officers and officials in the Store premises, asked employees to perform their duties with full responsibility and dedication.The Minister also instructed the officers to auction the whole stock of furniture and other material damaged by floods.Meanwhile, the Minister also inspected the old Panchayat Bhawan compound Zakura.He was accompanied by the Director Rural Development Department, Kashmir, Mr. Tasaduq Jeelani, Assistant Commissioner Development Srinagar and other concerned officers.
