Press Gallery Advisory Committee Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly headed by its Chairman Mohan Rao today called on Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta.The Advisory Committee was on a study tour to Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir to further their knowledge about the functioning of Legislative Assembly in these two states.
Kavinder Gupta had a detailed discussion with the committee about the system and working of Legislative Assembly in Chhattisgarh. He also briefed the committee about the functioning of State Legislative Assembly including ensuring discipline during conduct of proceeding, new trends in media coverage besides new initiatives of imparting training to legislators. Speaker appreciated this innovative effort of Chhattisgarh Government which would greatly help in enhancing the knowledge about the status and working of this vital part of democratic setup. He said that study tour of the committee should be organized on regular basis to help further streamline the functioning of Legislative Houses.
Kavinder Gupta also apprised the members about the initiatives being taken by the coalition government in the State to redress the grievances and demands of the people of all the three regions of the State besides highlighting various visionary initiatives being taken up for development of the State under the new regime.The Press Gallery Advisory Committee comprised of Sanjay Shekhar, Ashish Tiwari, Shashank Sharma, Gopal, Brijesh Dwivedi, Bhola Ram, Ravi Kant, Babu Lal, Satish Ch.
