Punjab became a witness to the first of its kind exhibition of various design forms. The Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali today held its 7th annual design collection show “SUVYAN-15”.Stating this, an official spokesperson said that the students of Textile Design exhibited their creativity in respect of Home Décor, Furnishing products apart from dresses keeping in line with both the national and international trends.The spokesperson also informed that the designs exhibited by the students were perfect blend of Indian, Indonesian, Moroccan and African art and fashion forms showcasing the fashion trends in various hues.
According to the spokesperson, on this occasion Mr. S.R. Ladhar, IAS, Director & Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Punjab and Director General NIIFT, appreciating the herculean effort made by the students said that the students have displayed brilliant designs in accordance with the international standards demanded by the fashion industry. On this occasion awards were also given in the categories of Best Design Collection, Most innovative, most commercial, most creative and special jury.On this occasion Mr. K.S.Brar, Joint Director Industries & Commerce, Punjab and Director NIIFT, Inderjit Singh Registrar, NIIFT, Course Coordinator, Textile Design Department Shweta Sharma, Assistant Professor Deepti Sharma, Guest Faculty Indeep Kaur, Faculty members Simrita Singh and Madan Lal were also present.
