Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs Choudahry Zulfkar Ali today stressed on the need for collective efforts to eradicate the menace of child labour from the society.“There is a dire need for collective efforts of civil society and government in this direction. Only sincere efforts can eventually lead to complete abolition of this menace from the society” Zulfkar said.The Minister was speaking addressing a gathering of students , staff and parents at the annual day function of Tinny Tots school here today,MLC Surinder Chowdhary was also present on the occasion Emphasizing for zero tolerance against those indulging in exploitation of children, he said that credible efforts are required for eliminating this menace “The joint effort of civil society, NGOs and Government enforcement agencies is key to end this menace: he said and added that coalition government would render every assistance to the organizations working to provide education facilities to the children of the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society.
Describing education as vital tool to end backwardness and channelize the energy of children in right direction, Zulfkar called for further improvement in standard of education. He also called for encouraging extra curriculum activities side by side academics for all round personality development of the children.Underscoring the need for capacity building and proper management and planning to bring desired changes in the education sector, the minister said mere enrollment is not enough.Efforts must be made for creating conducive atmosphere for intellectual and moral development of the children”, he said. Earlier a scintillating cultural programme was presented by the school children, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
