Minister for Revenue Javed Mustafa Mir, today, along with Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control and other officers visited Mir Mustafa Lift Irrigation Scheme (MMLIS) Marwal and took stock of the damage caused to it in floods. The pump was made functional today by replacing its damaged transformer.The Minister asked Chief Engineer and other concerned officers to ensure that all the irrigation pumps are made operational in view of the demand of the farmers. He also asked them to construct a retaining wall at Novbugh in order to plug the water entering the fields of the village.
Talking to the people, the Minister said that priority of the Government is to restore all damaged infrastructure in the State. He said devastating floods not only damaged public property but also the infrastructure raised by the Government in different sectors. He said roads, irrigation facilities, power infrastructure, water supply schemes are the major sectors affected by the last years’ floods and assured people that all basic facilities in their areas would be improved and restored in a phased and time bound manner.
