Kiran Choudhry, Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party, has flayed the decision of the Education Department to issue show-cause notices to 4,060 guest teachers asking them why their services should not be terminated. She has asked the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar, to shed the mask of hypocrisy he was wearing on this issue, roll back the notices and regularize their services.

Reacting to the issuance of notices, the former excise and taxation minister said here today that the hypocrisy of the state government on this issue is quite clear. Yesterday, when the Chief Minister and the Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, asked the agitating guest teachers to shed the path of agitation and come to the negotiating table with the government, the department issued them show-cause notices, asking them to explain why their services should not be terminated.

“Looks, the left hand in the Khattar administration does not know what the right hand is doing. Notices are issued the same day when the political leadership asks the teachers to come to the talks table. The notices tear apart the mask of hypocrisy the government is wearing. You can’t shake one hand with the guest teachers while hiding a dagger in the other hand,” she remarked. The guest teachers are agitating only to press the BJP Government to keep its pre-poll promise and regularize their services. They maintain that the BJP government is now going back on its promise. Instead of regularizing their services, they are being given lathi-blows, and, now the sack notices, Ms Choudhry said.“The Khattar Government should immediately roll back the notices, hold talks with guest teachers, keep its word, and find a way to regularize their services,” she demanded.
