Police thrashes bailed out CAPD employees

Police has allegedly thrashed two CAPD employees in Mendhar.Reports reaching GNS said that, two CAPD employees, ‘weighman’ Fazal Hussain and store-keeper Abdul Kabir, accused and later on bailed out in a food grain embezzlement, were assaulted by police Monday evening. SDPO allegedly invited the duo to his office and later on assaulted them, reports said. During the assault a tooth of Fazal Hussain was broken while the other teeth started bleeding, and he was immediately shifted to SDH Mendhar for treatment.Abdul Kabir, the other employee after reaching his home, complained of urinary complications, and was removed to PHC Dhargloon where from he was shifted to SDH for further treatment. Marks of rope on wrists and arm were also found on Kabir, reports said.

Meanwhile, the people of the area assembled Shaheedi Yaadgaar Chowk and raised black flags to protest against the harassment of the employees at the hands of Surinder Chaudary.The people demanded to lodge FIR against the police official, while alleging that the police have been providing shelter to the kingpin TSO Abdul Khaliq. Tehsildar Abdul Khabeer while assessing the situation ensured an on-time enquiry on the matter. An enquiry committee was constituted to review the facts of the incident of which ADC Poonch Mumtaz Chaudary, ACR Poonch, SDM Mendhar Shafiq Ahmad, Addl. SP Poonch Amit Gupta were directed to submit the report in two days time. While as relatives of Fazal Hussain moved to Munsif Court after which the court directed SHO Mendhar to submit a report copy before 26th of May.Surinder Chaudary while talking to GNS vehemently denied the charges.“I haven’t assaulted anyone, we have our routine duty to keep a check on the things, and I had just summoned the duo as to investigate and furnish some details about the scam they were involved in,” Surinder said.
