The Officer Trainees of Indian Information Service (IIS) -2015 Batch called on the Vice President of India M. Hamid Ansari at Vice President House today. These 8 Officer Trainees are presently undergoing Training in Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. Smt. Neelam Kapur, Principal DG, Directorate of Field Publicity and Shri Sunit Tandon, DG, IIMC and officers from IIMC were also present on the occasion.
Interacting with the officer Trainees, the Vice President called upon them to develop credibility and reliability while discharging their duty. He said that in this age of information, Media Officer plays an important role in dissemination of important information pertaining to the Government. His job is to go out and tell the well informed Media and should not deny the fact. He opined that the responsibility of a Media Officer has increased many a fold with the advent of Social Media and they have to update themselves regularly with the new technologies of modes of communication for timely dissemination of information. He wished them good success in their career ahead.
