Punjab Revenue & Public Relations Minister and General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal Bikram Singh Majithia has launched the membership drive of Youth Akali Dal from Majha zone comprising four districts namely Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Tarntaran in an impressive function held here in Amritasr(East) constituency today.Majithia, who was accompanied by Mr. Inderbir Singh Bolaria, President, Majha zone of Youth Akali Dal, while addressing the mammoth gathering of youth leaders as well as of workers said that it was Shiromani Akali Dal only which has been giving due representation to youth in government as well as in electoral process and the intelligent youth of state have been reposing faith in party’s policies and programmes. He said that even the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which has exploited the youth sentiments has now adopted “five star” culture and taken u-turn from its tall promises and its supremo and his coterie have turned in to dictators.

Recalling the whole hearted support extended to him by youth of Punjab during his president ship of YAD, Mr. Majithia exhorted them to work whole heartedly for strengthening the party at grass roots level. He said that it was a matter of great pride that now number of youth Akali leaders have risen to the prestigious posts of Ministers, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries and state level chairmen. He said that the membership would be made after verifying the background of interested members and expressed confidence that the number of membership would double than previous recruitment.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Inderbir Singh Bolaria said that the new membership drive would play an important role in Punjab polity besides strengthening the party by disseminating its policies and programmes. He urged the youth to come forward to fight against social evils prevailing in the state. He said that Young Punjabis  between the ages 18 to 40 can enrol themselves during the membership drive and can become part of Youth Akali Dal that symbolizes truth, youthful aspirations and zeal to serve the people and be part of a change hat youth can bring in for the betterment of masses.
