Indiscipline, Corruption Would Not Be Tolerated: Sharanjit Dhillon

Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, PWD Minister today reiterated that indiscipline, corruption and negligence never tolerate in the public works department. He directed the Chief Engineers to give priority to public works and complete the ongoing projects within given time frame. Dhillon, who was presiding over the meeting of all Chief Engineers of his department, said that official should ensure the site order book, where-there works with the cost of more than Rs. 3 crores were under progress. He directed the concerned officers to register the lapses in the site book immediate after visiting the work site as he would personally check the site order book on the weekend and the erring officers would not be spared. The Minister also issued instructions to all Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, Sub pisional Officers and Junior Engineers to visit the work sites according to the need of the area to maintain the quality of the project. He said that they would also ensure the completion of project within given time frame while the Chief Engineers would ensure that the work report should be according to the status of the project. Getting status of ongoing projects of big roads in the state, . Dhillon asked the officer concerned to install radium boards on the roads leading to villages of Punjab and the given task of installation of cat eyes stickers on the roadsides should be completed in stipulated time limit. He also issued instructions to the officers to maintain the quality at the time of marking center lines on the roads. . Dhillon asked the Chief Engineers to submit their reports on patch works annually in April.
