Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee held a day long political convention at Srinagar today. The convention was Presided over by Pradesh Congress Committee President G.A. Mir.Former PCC President Peerzada Mohammad Syed, Taj Mohi U-Din, Ghulam Nabi Monga MLC, Mohammad Muzaffar Parray MLC, Haji Abdul Rashid Vice President MLA, Amreen Badre, Gulzar Ahmad Wani MLA, Usman Majeed MLA, Bashir Ahmad Magray, Farooq Andrabi, Mohammad Amin Bhat MLA,  Mohammad Abdullah Nadaf,  Hilal Ahmad Shah, S.S. Chenni, Raman Matoo, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Abid Kashmiri, Irfan Naqeeb, Zahid Hussain Jan, Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, Abdul Gani Khan Anayatullah Rather, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Gulam Mohd Mir, QaziMehboob Ellahi, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday,  Master Mohammad Maqbool Shameema Raina, Shaheena Nadaf, Jawahira,  Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Sahil Farooq,

Gulzar, Maroof Ahmad Wani, Mir Hamidullah , Prominent Congress leaders, Districts Presidents, Block Presidents, Mahila Congress Youth Congress, NSUI leaders  also addressed.The Convention was held with the aim to know the views of ranks and file and to discuss over all socio economic development in the J&K State. The Convention discussed threadbare forthcoming Urban Local Bodies Election and impressed upon the party cadres to gear up for these elections.The Congress convention unanimously resolved to observe May 5 as ‘Black Day’ in Jammu and Kashmir and resolved also that Congress workers of the Valley will take  out procession and march towards Secretariat where they will protest against the ‘unholy coalition’ between these two parties.

“PDP secured votes to keep BJP out of power and the BJP did the same thing in Jammu. It was all drama played by both the parties to mislead the people,” the convention resolved. “Congress Party will expose both the parties for their anti poor and anti people policies.”While terming this attitude of both the parties very unfortunate and embarrassing they said, “Congress, will not allow them (PDP –BJP) to further mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”The Convention also appealed to people of the State, Social and other like minded political parties to support this Call
