Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday attended the first day of the "Janta Ka Budget" street corner meeting in Patparganj assembly constituency organised to take public suggestions on the budget.Addressing the meeting, Kejriwal said his government was committed to public welfare and explained the concepts of the participatory budgeting exercise."We believe in participation of public in preparation of their budget," he said, adding: "I strongly believe that not only Delhi but the entire nation will see a real democracy taking place in the national capital.""We are fulfilling the promises that we had made during election campaign in Delhi," the chief minister said.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who represents Patparganj in the assembly, said the people of Delhi would prepare their own budget and asked the people to vote on what work needed to be done."Vote for the projects you think need to be done by raising your hand. You might have raised your hands earlier for praising the leaders but now it is the time you raise hands for yourselves," he said."Raise your hands if you think that we should provide pension to the extreme poor people from this limited budget. Do not hesitate, it is your budget and you should decide the priority of the works to be done," he said.
