Around 2.5 lakh village-level meetings will be organised for the consultation of formulating the new education policy, the government said on Monday.The decision was taken in a meeting of parliament's Consultative Committee for the human resource development.A presentation made by Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani "highlighted the need for formulating the new education policy which aims at meeting the 21st century challenges - globalization and liberalization.""Under Grassroot Consultative process, around 2.5 lakh meetings will be held at village level; approximately 6,600 meetings at the block level, 676 at the district level and 3,700 meetings will be held at the urban municipal bodies level," said a statement from the ministry.
