A day after BJP president Amit Shah said "jungle raj" has returned in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his ally, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, hit out at the BJP on Saturday over the 2002 Gujarat riots and accused the party of spreading anarchy in the country."What happened in Gujarat in 2002 and after, Shah should explain to the people. Was there a 'nyay raj' (rule of law) there?" Nitish Kumar told the media before leaving for Delhi to attend a meeting of chief ministers and chief justices of high courts on Sunday. He said those targeting Bihar were the "nayak" (protagonists) of what happened in Gujarat. "People of the country and the world know it."

Lalu Prasad was also displeased with Shah's remark."The BJP is trying hard to create an atmosphere of anarchy in the country for its vested interests. The BJP is a party that spreads anarchy," the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief said."The BJP is hell bent to defame Bihar and its people," he added.Stressing that the Bharatiya Janata Party will fail in the upcoming assembly election in Bihar, he said: "We will puncture the BJP in the assembly polls."
