Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Nazir Ahmad Gurezi said that certain parties in a state of frustration are now trying to negate the achievements registered by the Government in different fields of development and maintained that the developmental activities initiated by the Government have been responsible for changing the socio-economic profile of the people of the state especially those living in rural and far-flung areas.The Minister was addressing a series of public gatherings during his extensive tour of various areas of Tehsil Gurez tdoay.He said that the government is committed for ensuring the holistic development of all the three regions of the State and in this regard several developmental programmes have been taken in hand. He said that the various developmental projects initiated under different sectors taken have been completed within the stipulated time period for the benefit of the people.
The Minister said that the Gurez is a beautiful area having huge tourism potential and there is a scope to promote its glory by launching adventure tourism and other tourist’s activities. He said there is need to bring it on tourism map adding that it will not only create job opportunities for un-employed youth of the State, but also increase tourist flow towards the State particularly to this area.Enroute, several deputations projected their inpidual and collective problems of their respective areas which include opening of Animal and Sheep Husbandry centres at Tulail, construction of protection bunds and water supply schemes, repairs and renovation of inner road links, opening of Anganwari centres, launching of potato project in Gurez area, construction of sports playing field in Tulail and timely sanctioning of IAY cases to deserving beneficiaries.The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. In some case, he issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned for early their redressal.
