Rs. 24.84 cr quake relief released to DCs of Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban: Saifullah

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Mir Saifullah on behalf of Revenue Minister informed the House that an amount of Rs 19 crore, Rs. 5.69 crore and Rs. 15 lakh has been released and kept at the disposal of Deputy Commissioners Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban respectively for disbursement among the earthquake affected people in these districts.The Minister said that an amount of Rs. 50 lakh has been released and utilized by the Executive Engineer PWD Doda, Bhaderwah and Executive Engineers PDD Doda for restoration of damaged public infrastructure. As many as 5579 tents had been placed at the disposal of Deputy Commissioners and free ration for a period of three months has also been provided to the entire earthquake affected, he maintained. Mr. Saifullah said that Rs. 2 crore have been sanctioned for drought affected areas of District Kishtwar for the year 2009. He said Rs. 4500, Rs. 9000 and Rs. 12000 per hectare were paid as relief to the affected farmers under different categories. Three months free ration stands also provided to the drought affected families for 2009.In reply to another question by Mr. Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy, the Minister informed that the Government constituted a Committee for examination of demands for opening of new administrative units in 2010 under the Chairmanship of Mr.  Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai. He said the Committee submitted its report in July 2011 before the Cabinet for consideration, adding that in pursuance to the Cabinet decision of 24-7-2013, the Government constituted a Cabinet Sub- Committee to examine the modalities for implementation of the report of the Committee.Minister for PHE Mr. Sham Lal Sharma while intervening in the matter said that the report is being examined by the Cabinet Sub-Committee and later the report will be presented before the legislature.
