Member Parliament Jammu Poonch Constituency Madan Lal Sharma chaired State Level Consultative Committee meeting today at FCI Regional office Rail Head Jammu . He directed the FCI functionaries to expedite procurement for ensuring food security . Mr. Sharma stressed upon the need to regulate Mandies on the pattern of Punjab and other States. He also stressed for timely and proper procurement of paddy etc for implementation of National food Security ordinance 2013 which ensures food security to all. He also stressed for the proper implementation of Private Entrepreneur Guarantee Scheme (PEG) . He also called upon to maintain better relationship with Staff bodies for smooth functioning and maintaining maximum supply of foodgrains in the State. He also stressed upon to provide special trainings to the officers posted in J&K , for maintaining relations with Staff and labourers who may upgrade the moral of staff and workers who are working very hard for maintaining proper supply of foodgrains. He maintained J&K is very sensitive and militancy affected State only by appreciating the working of staff/labour can upgrade the moral of workers which can help for maintaining sufficient stock position of foodgrains. He directed to constitute a committee on priority who can workout the actual requirement of labourers on the basis of present turnover of foodgrains and recommend for special sanction to the ministry as presently labour shortage is the main cause due to which FCI, in J&K is making payment of heavy demurrage charges to railway . Mr. Sharma directed the officers to consult District Administration and Panchayats for procurement and smooth supply. He also called upon to ensure community participation in Procurement by involving atleast 10 Sarpanchs from each block to ensure transparency . Prominent among who attended the meeting, Shri Kishore Kumar, GM FCI J&K, Shri Riyaz Ahmed, Jt. Dir. CAPD, Shri Chander Mohan, Member SLCC, Shri Amarjeet Singh, member , DGM, AGM and other officers of FCI.
