Govt to consider development authority for Tosamadian: G.A. Mir

Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir today informed the House that government would consider to setting up a development authority to tap and showcase the varied tourism potential of Tosamadian in Budgam district.Replying to a question by Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani, the Minister said that a project for development of Poshkar as tourist village has been mooted with Union Ministry of Tourism for approval of funds adding that once the funds are released the necessary tourism development work in the village would be taken up.The Tourism Minister said that at present work on tourism development in village Khag is apace at a cost of Rs. 69.98 lakh against which Rs. 55.98 lakh have been released for implementation of the project. He said so far an amount of Rs. 38 lakh under hardware and software components have been spent in the village.Giving further details, the Minister said that under hardware component 60% work on construction of trekking centre has been completed in Khag village. He said construction of toilet block, tile path, solar electrification, street lighting and borewell would be taken up once building of trekking centre is completed. He said as regards, software component, 60% of the sanctioned components have been completed.
