Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma today informed the House that Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has approved construction work of Wadoora Lift Irrigation Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.27 crore and work of this project would be taken up soon after release of funds from the Centre.Replying to a question by Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganie in the House today, the Minister said that formulation of DPRs for construction of Lati Shat and Harwan schemes is under process.The PHE Minister said that 50% construction work on Nathipora Lift Irrigation Scheme has been completed and remaining work of the project would be completed within shortest possible time.
He further said that the provision for procurements for new pumps has been incorporated in modernization of Zaingeer Canal Project under AIBP adding that once the funds are released new pump will be installed at Watlab pump station.
Replying to the supplementaries by Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar, Er. Abdul Rashid and Mr. Nizam-ud-Bhat, the Minister said that construction work in approved 6 irrigation projects in Rafiabad constituency would be taken up as and when funds are released from the Centre. He said that construction work of Narkhul in Langate constituency would be also completed this fiscal. He said that government would also consider providing drinking water facility to village Zoori Manz and other adjacent habitations through Watlab pump station.
