Bikram Singh Majithia, General Secretary , Shiromani Akali Dal has thanked the people of Majitha for their enthusiastic participation in Municipal Council elections and ensuring resounding victory of Shiromani Akali Dal candidates in all 13 wards.Mr. Majithia pointed out that Congress was in habit of raising the bogey of violence or rigging in media on the eve of polls impending its drubbing from the hands of people. He said that Congress was making lame excuses to justify its defeat but contrary to its claims the poll process went peacefully. He said that nomination papers of not even a single Congress or other candidate were rejected. He said that overwhelming response of voters has established the fact that on one hand they were casting their votes for expediting the ongoing development process and on the other rejecting the false & malicious propaganda divisive politics of Congress party.
The Congress façade of popularity has been exposed as their key man Sukhjinder Raj Singh Lally and his brother have lost their home wards where they could not save the deposit of his key candidates, he quipped. Congratulating the winning candidates, Mr. Majithia exhorted them to work hard to fulfill the aspirations of voters by making the development of their respective areas their sole mission. He said that the SAD-BJP government was committed to empower the local bodies and there would be no scarcity of funds for overall development of urban areas.
