The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that there has been increase in incidents and cease fire violation during the year 2013 along the Line of Control during the year 2013 up to September 25, adding that 105 cases of cease fire violations have been reported along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu Province which includes the areas of Poonch and Rajouri.Replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Dr. Shahnaz Ganai in Legislative Council about the situation that has arisen due to the unprovoked firing along Actual Line of Control in entire Poonch and Rajouri districts from across the border and steps taken by the Government for shifting and rehabilitating and provide compensation to the people of these areas.The Minister said that people living in border areas are affected by cross-border shelling on the area near the LOC particularly in Poonch and Rajouri districts. He said 6 civilians living near LOC of Poonch got injured due to these cease fire violations. He said ex-gratia relief has been paid to the injured persons, adding that no incident of either loss of life or injury has been reported in District Rajouri and Jammu. At present there is no proposal for shifting rehabilitation of the people of border areas under the consideration of Government.
