An amount of Rs. 937.35 crore has been released under NABARD to the Public Works Department(R&B) for taking up 563 schemes in Jammu pision against project cost of Rs. 1441.29 crore and similarly Rs. 932.07 crore has been released against approved cost of Rs. 1426.16 crore in Kashmir pision for taking up 637 schemes.The Information was given by Minister for Tourism, Mr. G. A. Mir on behalf of R&B Minister while replying to question by Mr. Subash Chander Gupta.
The Minister further said that construction of roads from Salalpur to Chaby Chak, Tengdevpur road estimated to cost Rs. 160 lakh was recommended for NABARD funding under RIDF-XVIII during 2012-13 which could not mature.He further said that the project appraisal report for Rahi to Baba Gourian road has been formulated at an estimated cost of Rs. 1032 lakh. He said that the work could not be taken in hand due to paucity of funds.Rs. 21.50 lakh spends for promoting Siyar Baba waterfall as tourism destination Minister for Tourism, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir replying to a question by Vijay Bakaya said that the government has earmarked an amount of Rs. 71 lakh under Tourism sector for development and promotion of Siyar Baba waterfall near Reasi as a tourist destination.The Minister said that out of total allocated funds an amount of Rs. 21.50 lakh has been spend so far for developing tourism related infrastructure and parking facilities for the tourists visiting the spot. Mr. Jugal Kishore also raised the supplementary to the question.
