Capt. Amarinder singh deleberatly scuttling the appointment of sikh as army chief-Chandumajra
Chandigarh, January 4 : The Shiromani Akali Dal today took strong objection to Capt. Amarinder Singh medalling in the internal affairs of Indian army and lobbying of Capt. Amarinder Singh in favour of extension to General VK Singh, with the sole objective of scuttling the appointment of a sikh as army chief.
In a statement issued here today Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra General Secretary SAD today said that it was a matter of great regret that Capt. Amarinder Singh PPCC President had written a letter to defence Minster Mr. AK Antony to revert the decision on date of birth of General VK Singh so that Lieutenant General Bikram Singh was denied the golden chance to become a sikh army Chief of India. He said that by doing so Congress party as well as Capt. Amarinder Singh have exposed their anti sikh psyche.
The SAD General Secretary said that Congress party since independence had adopted all direct and indirect methods to crush Sikhs and to marginalise them in the society. He said that Capt. Amarinder Singh was a willing tool in the hands of Congress party to accomplish their nefarious mechanisations against sikh community. He said that Capt. Amarinder Singh joined Akali Dal with a singular aim to split 90 year old party and to weaken the voice of Sikhs in the Indian polity and now seeing a sikh getting a golden chance to become army chief, Capt. Amarinder Singh has now joined the chorus pro VK Singh and anti Bikram Singh lobby.
Prof. Chandumajra said that SAD would not allow injustice to a decorated sikh general at the instance of Capt. Amarinder and would continue to fight to protect the interest of Sikhs and Punjabis in times to come.
