The Annual General Meeting of BCCI in Chennai on Sunday , saw a prominent development with the reappointment of Anurag Thakur as the Joint Secretary for a further one year term. Anurag Thakur is also currently the President for Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.Anurag Thakur has been the Joint Secretary of BCCI since September 2011. Commenting on this move, he said, ‘I am honored to have been reappointed as the Joint Secretary.  I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my term till now and look forward to developing the achievements of BCCI further'.It is a remarkable development for Mr. Thakur who has sustained his position consecutively for the third year  in the Indian Cricket Board despite the underlying glitches in the BCCI that led to re-election of the working committee.

'I have always been passionate about cricket and being part of BCCI is indeed a great opportunity for me to do something good for the sport. I highly recommended and look forward working towards forming zonal cricket academies in every zone so that budding cricketers get the right kind of exposure and training', added Thakur.Mr Thakur, President HPCA has turned the first-class ground in Dharamsala into the country's most scenic cricket venue hosting IPL and International One day matches on regular basis. As the Joint Secretary of BCCI, Mr. Thakur has done a remarkable job promoting and providing international exposure to cricketers at the junior level. Today, our teams like U-19 and Indian A face international teams in India and abroad and are relatively doing good.The appointment is from 28th September 2013.
