Capt Dr Lekhraj Sharma, eminent astrologer called on Smt Urmila Singh, Governor at Rajbhawan here today.Governor congratulated him for his contribution in the field of astrology and hoped for more achievements in future. She said Indian culture is rich and unique among all the civilizations of the world and added that our ancient scriptures like Vedas are repositories of knowledge and provide rich knowledge about science, medicine, astrology and astronomy besides various other subjects. She said that our traditional heritage should be preserved at all cost.
He apprised the Governor about various aspects of traditional knowledge which are part of our ancient scriptures which included astrology, vaastu shastra, palmistry etc and added that efforts should be made to preserve these for posterity. He suggested that steps could be taken to promote these in Himachal Pradesh by introducing them as subjects in universities.
Dr Lekhraj Sharma hails from Himachal Pradesh and has been honoured with various awards including Rashtrapati award, International Jyotish award, International Rotary award, Bharat Gaurav and various others for his distinguished services in the field of astrology. He is an expert in preparing astro birthcharts based on palm lines.
